CLASS 2

Age 4-6 Years

This classroom is for children between the age of 4-6 years. Under the direction of Denise Conner, the director of the school, this class is equipped with more advanced equipment to prepare your child for kindergarten and upper grades.

As with our class 1, there is a mix of ages with the older kids pulling up the results of the younger children who like to do what the older children are doing, The older children in turn are given more challenging work from time to time to call their own, which often brings them the added motivation to complete their tasks.

This class also accepts one or two Kindergarten students per year, if these students have spent at least 2 years with the school.

One of they key objectives of this class is to teach children their letters, numbers and phonics. Children practice how to precisely write their letters using ruled paper, eraser board and chalkboards.

Those children who have been with the school the longest are the most advanced learners in this class. These children will learn how to grade colors, addition, subtraction even reading reading. They learn about the weather, how to tell time, parts of the body and much more. Children also learn songs, poems, rhymes and the pledge of allegiance.

During Spring the kids in class take a lead role on our gardening project. They start the project with the classroom science lab by learning the life cycle of a bean, and then go outside to dig, weed and plant beautiful vegetables and plants.
